Everyone and every age level experiences loss. Loss, either through death, divorce, a parent's deployment or other life transitions can result in devastating trauma or serve as an opportunity for growth. This highly interactive and fun filled training will:

Expand knowledge base on grief and loss

Identify reactions to grief and loss based on the child’s developmental age

Identify appropriate responses needed based on a child’s age and maturation level

Provide participants with an extensive book list for using Bibliotherapy with children to address loss

Diane Cantrell, LPC-S began her career in education teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Transitional First Grade. She also worked as a counselor providing assistance to parenting teens in a local school district. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Diane has provided therapy for adults, families, and children in agencies and private practice settings. As part of her private practice, she has offered parent training to her clients and parents in the community. She frequently speaks to community groups, provides training for CEU’s, and supervises LPC interns. Diane has also authored two award winning books. Good-bye, Baby Max, a children’s picture book received a gold medal Mom’s Choice award in the Life Lessons category while Riley’s Lost Tooth, received a silver medal in the category called Growing Up.
