Military Lifestyle Counseling
More than ever, health care professionals find that clients with a military background require specialized focus due to the unique nature of the military life. We will explore the issues related to a military lifestyle and how to effectively reduce stresses of time, family pressures, workload and trauma that makes military health care so challenging. So join us on this cruise and and learn skills for a lifetime.This program will provide immediate tools to assist you in Counseling Military Member and Their Families and to integrate them into your practice as we cruise Canada and New England. This seminar will combine lecture, discussion and experiential exercises designed to rejuvenate your abilities to treat clients with military related issues and enhance your therapy style. You will leave with an understanding of ways to assist military personnel and their families and practical methods for bringing balance into the lives of your military clients. You will have tools to immediately integrate into your practice as a certified Military Lifestyle Counselor.
The 20 CEU course will include formal and informal discussion, practical applications for use with military clients and best practices for treating military and family members. We will also explore the effects of PTSD and head trauma on soldiers and their families and treatment approaches, to include Mindfulness Meditation. Includes 3 hours Ethics
Our trainer for this CEU cruise, Debra Bryan, MS, NCC, CMBT, LPC, has a fun, entertaining, informative style and is a Certified Mindfulness Based Therapist. She has found the many benefits of Mindfulnesss and Mindfulness Meditation in her personal life and has seen the very positive results in her clients. She also works with Military Members, Veterans and Military Families worldwide. As a therapist for over 25 years she brings a wealth of information and common sense into her teachings and her trainings recieve high satisfaction ratings and glowing comments on her teaching style.
